About us
Oceana wildlife is a non profit organisation, intently working to help protect wildlife and their habitat. With over twenty years experience in the environmental conservation, wildlife vet care and marine science industry, Oceana Wildlife staff and educators bring a depth of knowledge of ecosystem conservation, regeneration and wildlife habitat protection to all projects and junior ranger programs.
Since 2007, Jasmin Oceana (founder) has been involved in turtle and dolphin conservation projects and advocacy, indigenous Quandamooka marine conservation projects ‘healing sea country’ in Moreton Bay, and more recently, Dolphin Research project set to begin on Minjerribah North Stradbroke Island, with Dolphin Research Australia, to work along side custodians of sea country to help understand the status, health and conservation priorities for dolphin species on the islands of Moreton Bay.
In 2022, Jasmin founded Oceana Wildlife and soon after starting creating adventure nature programs for kids and youth with the goal of nurturing a love for wildlife.
For more than ten years, Jasmin has been teaching in early learning, kids' presentations, and as a Marine Biology VET teacher in high schools for indigenous students. Jasmin has been mentoring students, and involved in academic course development, bringing her knowledge into creating the programs for all the rangers programs. She's passionate about exploring the outdoors and spreading her love for wildlife, oceans, and the beauty of nature.
The Junior Wildlife Rangers are nature based programs for all ages. Rangers gain understanding in local conservation, through fun games and activities, to earn eco skill badges, these skills equip rangers with the knowledge and experience to protect nature and wildlife.
Oceana Wildlife is looking forward to new projects in coral restoration (stay tuned) and continuing to bring leading edge educational rangers programs to our local community, inspiring leadership in wildlife conservation. .
We believe that the future and beauty of our natural world will be protected, by nurturing a love for wildlife.
